Q: I suffered a car
accident a couple of years ago and suffered a
closed-head injury. Ever since, I have been experiencing
short-term memory loss along with some depression and
irritability. I know the memory loss is probably from
the accident, but do you think the depression and
irritability are connected to the accident as well? And
how would Neurotherapy help in my recovery?
A: Yes, your depression
and irritability are most likely connected to the car
accident and injury. Many times after someone suffers a
closed-head injury they experience short-term memory
loss coupled with depression. As a result they become
frustrated and irritable. The person may feel they
cannot regain the level of functioning they had before
the accident. Although every individual is unique, with
therapy, I have seen people recover fully from both
their memory loss and depression, without reoccurrence.
But this cannot happen overnight. It takes a willingness
and commitment to get better. EDS, the therapy used by
Advanced NeuroTherapy helps in this recovery process by
slowing the brain waves ever so slightly for very short
periods of time, so that the brain actually learns to
heal itself.
Q: I am 44 years old
and have had a stroke. I also battle with depression and
am ADD. Can you help me? What do I have to do?
A:
Yes, we can help.
Neurotherapy
is a central nervous system treatment. However, EDS
should be seen only as a reliable way, and a reasonably
rapid way to induce EEG slowing, and not as a treatment
magically improving a wide variety of disorders. At this
point, hundreds of children, adolescents, and adults
with ADD/ADHD
have been worked with, with all finding significant relief from the above problems-
often first seen after the completion of the program.
Depression is a result of the trauma you have suffered
as well as a bi-product of stroke.
We will work closely
with your prescribing physicians or neurologists.
