Q: Does my insurance pay for this treatment?

A: Some insurance companies will pay for EEG-Biofeedback. Many now recognize the BCIA Certification. Most do pay for the QEEG assessment. We will help you to work with your insurance company.

Q: Are there side effects?

A: No, there are no side effects. In over 50 years of research and many trials, Neurotherapy has proved itself to be successful without the harmful side effects of medication. Many websites have the studies available, www.ISNR.org, www.AAPB.org, www.BCIA.org, and www.eeginfo.org.

Q: How many times a week do I or my child need to attend the clinic?

A: Most people visit our clinic once or twice a week. Because we work on an individual basis (one clinician, one client) each person's session may involve more than one method or approach per session. We have found that in over 14 years of working with people, once a week is the most efficacious session schedule. Occasionally a client may need to attend twice a week.

Q: How many sessions will I or my child need?

A: In an effort to offer the most advanced program possible, we use the newest and most precise assessment technology available today. The T.O.V.A. (Test of Variable Attention) the I.V.A. (Integrated Tests of Variables of Attention) and the QEEG brain assessment mapping system give us a scientific and precise workup of you or your child. From this information we prepare a training plan unique to each person. Most people will be training between 25 to 40 sessions. We meet with the client (or the child's parents) every 10 sessions for a no-fee consultation to apprise you of you or your child's progress.

Q: How many children have you worked with?

A: We have worked with over 2,000 children with various problems. From ADD, Aspergers, Learning Disabilities to Peak Performance training, our clinic has had great success in working with adults, children and their families. We offer parent seminars, classes, and family counseling if needed. Advanced Neurotherapy has an extensive outreach network of health care professionals in the Bay Area to help support your or your child's needs.

Q: How do I set up an appointment?

A: It is very easy to work with our clinic. Please call our office and we will be happy to schedule a consultation if you would like more information. Contact us at 925-906-0420.

Carolyn Robertson is a certified Neurotherapist. She is not a licensed physician. EEG-Neurofeedback services are not licensed by the State of California and are considered alternative or complementary to healing arts services that are licensed by the State of California. EEG-Neurofeedback services involve learning to change your own behavior utilizing feedback to modify your brain wave patterns. That feedback is provided by equipment that monitors and shows brain wave activity. The theory of treatment of EEG-Neurofeedback services is based on 40 years of research conducted in university settings across the country and outside the United States. EEG-Neurofeedback is a combination of operant conditioning and biofeedback. Further explanation can be found on this website.
